SPORTS PROGRAM

R.E.A.C.H. West provides the coordination and support to the East Bay Buffaloes, one of the largest teams in Special Olympics Northern California. The athletes participate in a year-round training program with various sports.  

Spring Sports:  Track and Field, Swimming, and Bocce

Summer Sports:  Softball

Fall Sports: Flag Football, Soccer

Winter Sports: Basketball, Floor Hockey

We support about 90 athletes in the West Contra Costa and Northern Alameda counties. We also host an Annual East Bay Buffaloes Special Olympics Track and Field Meet, attended by as many as 8 teams and 200 athletes, and supported by over 50 volunteers and hundreds of cheering friends, family and community members. The Sports Programs provide a nurturing environment that promotes amazing comradery and pride in everyone who is involved in these programs.
